Jeff CavalloNaples, FLVeteran educator
As a lifelong educator, I have been a classroom teacher, department chair, dean of students, head varsity basketball coach, online instructor (domestically/internationally), director of admissions, and head of middle school. I feared speaking in front of people throughout elementary, middle, high school, and college and always felt ill-prepared. The pivotal moment for me -- I had to give a prepared speech to seventy-five people about the benefits of aerobic and anaerobic exercise. The speech may go down as the worst speech ever delivered. It was horrible. I was so nervous, my heart was pounding, I was sweating profusely, I tried to hold my notes, but my hands were shaking too much, and to make matters worse, my voice was quivering. I was embarrassed and humiliated. On my way home, I made a commitment to making drastic changes and improving my confidence and public speaking skills. Fast forward almost thirty years, I teach the finer points of public speaking and how to build power presentations in-person and remotely to global audiences. Also, I have written a public speaking manual that simplifies the process. I believe in lifelong learning, embracing challenges, and ongoing growth as a communicator. Furthermore, I earned a doctoral degree in Leadership and Innovation.
