Public Speaking Pro, Sales Professional, Positivity Mentor!

With a journey that began with a less-than-stellar high school speech, I embarked on a personal mission to transform myself into a proficient and confident public speaker. That pivotal moment, when a teacher candidly described my speech as the "worst ever heard," ignited a fire within me rather than breaking my spirit. My dedication to mastering the art of public speaking led me to immerse myself in various courses at Texas Christian University (TCU), where I honed my skills and developed a deep understanding of effective communication techniques. Through countless presentations both in academic settings and in my professional endeavors, I have refined my ability to captivate audiences and convey ideas with clarity and conviction. Beyond the classroom, I have applied my public speaking expertise to carve out a successful career in sales. This real-world experience has provided me with invaluable insights into tailoring messages to different audiences, handling objections with finesse, and delivering compelling presentations that drive results. As your public speaking tutor, I offer not only a wealth of practical experience but also a genuine passion for helping others unlock their full potential as communicators. My journey from that humbling high school speech to where I stand today serves as a testament to the transformative power of perseverance and dedication. Students who choose me as their tutor can expect personalized guidance, actionable feedback, and unwavering support on their own journey to becoming confident and impactful speakers.

Let me help you say what you need to say

I've taught Introduction to Speech and Public Speaking at Tarrant County College since late 2019, after receiving my MA in Communication with a 4.0 GPA from Eastern Michigan University. Prior to grad school, I was an assistant debate coach and instructional assistant in for the Communications Lab on campus. During that time, our competitive speech team qualified multiple students for the Phi Rho Pi national speech tournament both years I was an active assistant coach. And before that, I competed in debate and individual speaking events in High School and as an undergrad. According to my students, I am able to create a communication community that fosters confidence unique to each individual. I am successful at getting students to see where there own communication comes from and what practices they can use to communicate the best way that they can. It's an individualized approach that is about discovery and honing speaking skills. The key is that my students end the class with more confidence and a base set of skills upon which to build. I also have a tool no one else has, an application developed from an in-class activity that I call 90 Seconds to Make a Point. It is a highly customizable, random topic and audience type generator. I can input topics specific to a student's needs. This allows a student to not only practice their speaking, but also their critical thinking with relevance to any classroom topic.
